Most of the CDI files I've tried have worked. I think it's a bit temperamental though with ISO's depending on how they were ripped.

 

Yeah, I don't really care one way or the other about CDI files. As long as GDI dumps work properly (and I know all of the ones I have are dumped properly obviously because of my involvement with TOSEC), then I'm golden.

 

I'm a bit impatience, MNEMO hasn't been online in ICQ all day!
Btw mine cost $219 US, apparently it cost more to ship to Mexico.

 

Mine costed 182,32€ all together (WU). The gdemu costed me 105€ (bank transfers).
The price difference is big between the 2 devices, I donno if the usb plug or shipping combining with WU justify this.
I will test both in parallel and will keep the one I will prefer... I will test loading time along other things to make me an opinion.... For this, I am waiting to receive back my 2nd dreamcast....

 

Thanks everyone for your input. I'd love to just drop the cash and get both devices and review them extensively but sadly I just don't have the funds to do that.

 

Speaking of that, as someone tried Eldorado Gate with both units?

 

OK today I'm going to sit & go through every NTSC game & all PAL exclusives & check for crashing :-\ (for the UGC)

Here is a list of the games, I will mark the ones that dont work.

 

My problem is I have the funds, just can't order them. I have been messaging MNEMO and it has been difficult getting a reply from him. He did message me back saying that he plans on making more and finding a way to mass produce them. He also mentioned that he will be accepting PayPal transactions in October. I have to remain patient!

Ted im sorry you are having a hard time i know MNEMO is hard to talk to due to language barrier but could always be worse there... the other guy seems to always have a reason to be angry even before he started working on DCemu...Love his work with makron and other projects but always have a stick up there... and he knows it and even posted about it lol... just give them both time and they will both sell to you... sadly supply and demand have not equalized and doing this work by hand takes time...

 

Currently at Ecco the dolphin, I'm loading the games skipping everything (to get a crash) & then playing the game for 5 mins or so, so I can make sure it works. (For the the loading & beginning of all games that is)

 

of course... happy you have not ran into anything new.

 

OK half way there, I'm at [Q-R] & so far have 15 games that crash or freeze in some way, still got quite a few left. (I had to go out earlier, so a bit behind, now I'm going to bed)

Also to note, I have the latest USB Host firmware, so this may have broken some games (or not, version 14-08-29)

can you give us the list of the problematic games so we can also verify them as non working?

 

I will when I have all of them. (Each game that crashed was tested multiple times to make sure its a crash & not a fluke)

 

With GDMENU with the GDEMU, what happens if you dont use the special folder layout on the SDcard? Like, using the game-names as folder-names instead of numbers?
