@petterk in firmware 5.6.0 Deunan raised the image limit to 64 - I take that to mean 64 folders containing 1 GDI/CDI rip each? per the technical details page "Folder names must consist of 2 digits, 01 to 64" - If that's true, update man! :)

I get mine in a few days and might try a 64GB it if someone hasn't already.

Yes, I know. But lets say you have a 128GB card. 64 folders is not enough for that. And yes, 64gb cards have been tested as long as they are formatted as fat32.

Tested the 128GB SDXC today and it works perfectly - though as you say it was just over 70GB with 63 GDI's and the menu, so loads of space left.

I know this thread has lots of info, but should we make two new posts. One for the SD device and one for the USB. And leave this thread going for new devices... Just a thought.

    Super-awesome! Thanks for testing.

This is looking like a nice deal, and the reviews are all favorable:

Off-brand, but the big name ones are at least $20 - $50 more, and then you are paying for speed that the GDEMU can't use...

What brand and model of card did you use, Nightbreed?

Heh, I know, right - - "Komputerbay" brand doesn't exactly sound rock-solid, does it?

PNY would be a-OK with me. I have some of their memory in a few custom computer builds, it's been reliable. Only about $10 more, worth the peace of mind.

I used a SanDisk Ultra Class 10 (Not my card though - from a buddys camera lol)

I have tested a lot of different cards though and the one most surprising one was an old MiniSD (SanDisk MiniSD 2GB - SDSDM-2048 -10MB/s Max) which predated class rating lol - it was almost the same speed in the GDEMU as the SanDisk Extreme Pro.

I'd say go for a decent(ish) brand over class rating - unless of course you will be copying to the card often in which case the speed may matter more :)

If I lived in the US I would go for the 256GB PNY at around $110 (Cheapest I've seen a 256GB card in the UK is the Lexar one and its £230 or around $375 lol)

Cheers, thanks, that's super-helpful. Appreciate it!

Might wait to see if all that extra space will ever get used . . . I'm guessing the folder limit will go up, but you never know!

I think its going to be limited to a max of 99 unless you rename all folders with extra zero and hardware listing can handle triple digits

Hey he could still do 256 in 2chars HEX or 4096 in 2chars base64. But he most probably uses binary, 64 is 100000 so 6bits, with 7bits he could do 128, with 8bits 256. But I'm almost sure he could simply make it smarter so that it simply parses folders in the gui. He probably hardcoded it this way for now as it works and it's more simple.

I have a friend going to do the IDE HDD mod for me by using sata laptop hdd with convertor so it can all be powered by the PSU on the DC.

How many images does Dreamshell support and if anybody here had the ide mod how well does it work with Dreamshell?

DS supports as many images as FAT32 allows you, which is a lot:

Anyone have news on MNEMO? it's been a week now, since i send the guy the payment and only got a response last monday, saying that he was going to fix some problems and then send me the device. I enter ICQ daily to see any news and nothing, the guy is always offline and never reply.
So what you guys think, i lost my money? or he's going to send the board?
