Did anyone get to watch it last night? I'm sure i heard Jeremy say something about chat roulette but since i was upstairs watching it i couldn't rewind it to check if i heard right or not. To be honest it was a pretty boring episode, i mean it wasn't bad but could have been more exciting.
Yes he did, something about the Robin Reliant being as safe as inviting your mother over for an evening of Chat Roulette.
I thought it was a good show. I had a good few laughs at it. The Star in a Reasonably Priced Car section wasn't so good but the rest of it was. Still the best car show on TV. The only other one in the UK is Fifth Gear and that's really taken a dive. It's on for 24 minutes minus adds but they fill 6 of those with shitty contests and "Coming up next" crap. Yakumo
Finally was able to watch the first episode of the new series. I missed a challenge. Still, loved the Reliant Robin "tribute" by Clarkson (can't forget how many times this car appeared rolling / crashing on Mr.Bean) and insanely crazy James May going close to a volcano.
I enjoyed it. I was laughing hard at the Reliant bit, and James and the volcano segment was very good aswell.
have you guys seen the 2nd show? They buy 3 family saloons (Sedans) and drive them around Germany. The lucky sods get to use an unlimited Autoban and reach 145mph! The Autoban was more narrow than the road I did 70mph on and had to go to cort over. Stupid F*ing Japanese road rules. Yakumo
I was surprised how well that Cosworth held up. Definitely one of my dream cars. The Robin needs to be a running Top Gear meme, I'm surprised they went this long and only used it in the shuttle episode.
Ah yes the Sierra Cosworth, now there's a blast from the past. My mate actually used to have the R500 version (looks like >this<), and boy was it quick!
Last weeks was pretty funny, loved how everyone was thrown off by mays racing gearbox. The best was when they got their cars evaluated and it turned out jeremys was in the best condition while hammonds was in the worst. I went on top gears uk website and they are going to post the part where they did gas tests that got cut out. That looks like a cool job those evaluates have where you grade a car.
I really liked last weeks ep especially the merc 190e that James drove becuase that is one car i really like. I wanted James to win the challenge and hammond to come last but i never thought jeremy would win it. I even watched the youtube videos they made as they were showing them on TV.
Sayin999, you won't be able to watch the videos on the BBC Top gear site unless you are in the UK thanks to the blockers they use
Wrong mate, I just watched it. It might be cause I have torr installed. Honestly after watching it, this part of the segment isn't a big loss. It is a bit slow paced. The only good part was the last 3 minutes. The gist of it was May was the first to go out, while Hammond and Clarkson were neck and neck with their fuel lights on. It occurs right after they leave the hotel. But to be honest i think if they left the footage in it would of slowed down the show a bit. It wasn't that terribly entertaining to be honest.
Oh yes, it worked. It's the BBC Top Gear site that won't allow videos to be played - http://www.bbc.co.uk/topgear/
Its because while the top gear site has some bbc branding it seems its not actually ran by the bbc as it contains adverts.
Last night's feature wasn't anything spectacular, but it was still pretty good. Hey, Jeremy's probably right, nobody was not-watching-football so it didn't matter if the epiosde was a zinger. There's one thing I can't stand, though, and that's when they do the humiliation thing on TV, like the chauffeur section (or the stretch limo section). I also can't watch street-comedy shows and stuff like Jackass and all that.
I wasn't watching the football. I couldn't givea shit about the worl cup. There, I said it. As for last nights Top Gear, yeah there wasn't much clowing about in it but still a very solid and if not a little sensible. A good show all round. Oh, yeah. That Porche Panamero really is F*ing ugly.
It's funny, I really like the sport but I didn't watch even one second of any game of the entire world cup. Everytime the Super Bowl comes around over here I make an effort to do the same for it, but that's mainly because I HATE that sport community with a passion. The Panamero styling... it has a lot of little bits of it that I think were good ideas but it's like they played madlibs with the design and then sanded down all the corners. But hey, as they said and as I say when it comes to my extensive hail damage - you can't really see it when you're driving it.
Loved the challenge on the second episode. 3 great cars, but i'll always be a MB 190 fan. Can't forget Senna, just starting at F1, winning a race with it on Nurburgring, beating racing icons like Stirling Moss, Denny Hulme, Alan Jones and Niki Lauda. It was an idea of what he would become. Also, was nice to see Rubens on the third episode, beating Stig's time. He's such a great driver and a great guy, it's a shame most people don't have respect for him.
Tom Cruise and Cameron Diaz are on this Sunday's show which will be great to see although the rest of it seems to be a fairly bog standard episode which isn't a bad thing when it comes to topgear. I loved the motor homes they all made as there were ambitious but as usual rubbish and the ending was really funny. I do think had jeremy made his a little shorter then it may have worked quite well.
