The problem is that the show is becoming more scripted than ever and i wonder why. Give Clarkson, Hammond and May 5.000 pounds and make a cheap car challenge across europe.

There's no need to try to make them funny, they ARE funny on their own. Just remember Africa, Vietnam and old cheap challenges like the mid-engine italian supercar, buy a car for less than 100 pounds, british leyland, convertible van, and so on.

The motorhome creations didn't seemed like they have been designed / made by them. On every challenge they had to make modifications, they showed a small part of them working on the cars. This time, the cars were already "ready to go". And Clarkson, with an engineering degree, wouldn't even think on creating that thing.

Also, why not using vans for creating a motorhome? The whole thing could have been 10 times more funny.

Ayrton Senna tribute on last night's episode was simply brilliant. The best ever tribute i've seen.

Even though they didn't mentioned what happened in 1989 (that had a direct impact on 1990 Japanese Grand Prix), it was truly amazing.

Agreed I thought the Senna tribute was great and very emotional. It really stirred up memories from the time and seeing some of those onboard shots just looked incredible.

A great episode overall, however I'm not convinced that Tom Cruise really set the fastest lap seemed just a little to convenient to me.

Agreed, a fantastic show. I never really knew how great senna was but now I do! A fantastic tribute. I also agree on the Tom Cruise lap time. Sure he did that crazy two wheel stunt but overall he did seem slow. Wrong gears and so on.

Anyone else legitimately creeped out by how much Tom Cruise was smiling?

Not only the smile, but the scientology nonsense as well.

Maybe he's just friendly, but if I was as bat-shit-insanely-in-love as he supposedly is with his wife, I wouldn't even breathe on another woman.

Yesterday's episode was very good. It was a nice change of pace seeing them act the way they did on the challenge.

I've not seen it yet but I'm looking forward to it. Timor has it that last nights was the last in the current series. Hope not. 6 is just way too short.

It was for this series. I was disappointed too top gear usually ends on a epic finale, but honestly I think the budget cuts are taking their toll now. Still a nice tribute to British roadsters.

I really liked the british roadster challenge, nice tribute to a dead breed of cars that i wouldn't mind making a comeback. I especially liked the TVR James May was driving.

I liked that episode, felt far more organic than the ricockulously staged stuff earlier on (mobile homes..ick), rocky in parts but the season finished strong!

Yes, I finally saw the HD version of episode 6 and it was a good show. As mentioned, the British sports car section was class. In truth they were shit as they kept trying to avoid :) By the way, did anyone notice what Jeremy's number plate was a anagram of? C*NT  how true.

That was . What about when they parked their cars and all the plates made an actual prahse!

Hammond could have bought a older Lotus Elan, since his car looked out of place next to the TVR and the Jensen. Still while some people trashes most of these cars so badly, most of them are true classics today. May's TVR was a cool car indeed, and probably cheap to buy. Putting some money on restoration and modern parts and it's a cheap little car, with a powerful engine and not so expensive to run.

Anyway, those images of abandoned factories were a sad sight indeed. Clarkson's quote on that was perfect. Same happened with some brazilian car companies like Gurgel and Puma.

Shame it was the last episode of the season. Why are they doing so short seasons?

PS: I wonder when they'll make a old car challenge, across europe.

To be honest the last few summer seasons have only been 6 or 7 shows. The longer season Comes in winter.

The weirdest thing about goldblum is that he still has the Mercedes ML he got from Jurassic Park 2!! That car had so many problems and terrible build quality. It's not like he's poor and can't get another car... Plus, he drove the whole lap on 3rd! WTF !?

Jeff Goldblum interview was intersting and I am also suprised he stall has that car, but he might be that kind that is fine with whatever he has.

I mean he did do tom goes the mayor before tim and eric even got a following, so he probably is more of an average guy.

I got admit this season they did do some great tributes. It was real sad when they put the British roadsters in the garage at the end.

I just wish they would of spent a bit more time on that segment, but considering what they have to work with I can understand. Favorite of this series hands down was the custom built rv's

The ending was sad indeed. Senna and the british roadsters were great tributes and the second-hand sport saloons was also a good challenge. Also Barrichello beating Stig's time was epic. Loved the quotes on the following episodes.
