Hrm, that's a shame, I really like NBA Hoopz! Might try it with a .cdi rip when I get a chance...

You might want to drop a mail to Deunan about that.

    Thanks for support!

It is interesting to see that USB-GDROM is more popular despite being more expensive.
Is it because it has a USB port or is it because it has better compatibility?
Or is it that GDEMU has limited production runs by Deunan?

I think people believe it's worth it to have a TB of games handy. I don't. But in the end I think there was more gdemu sold than USB devices.

Bit of both, UGC is the simpler device to work with, it's just drag the files onto a USB device & play, no need to faff about with 01, 02 eg... Folders or naming files.
(Or downloading apps to do the latter)

Also GDEMU has limited runs, as the maker also makes other devices that are in demand.

    Yes & yes.

For me the UGC was not that much dearer than the GDEMU, I cannot say the same for people in the U.S though. Currently my GDEMU does not get used, as there isn't much point anymore.
(Before UGC has CDI support, it was handy)

To be honest, I perfer GDEMU mainly because of its cleanliness. A (very) small pcb, no holes, no hdd hanging out outside of the console. Also neuroacid's gdmenu and soft-reset to gdmenu are also quite nice.

I completely understand that some people want to have the complete collection on their console, but in my case I find it makes it harder to choose a game and stick to it anyways. The games I play regularly fit well under 5 GB once shrinked with your tool, my whole colelction is like 20GB... and I got a 64GB card...

Yeah, I have already done so awhile ago, back in June. He said he'd look into it. Hopefully it might be fixed in the next firmware update, who knows. Anyway, although the GDI are not working as of yet of NBA Hoopz, I tried the scene releases. US-NTSC NBA Hoopz scene release by Echelon didn't work either. But on the bright side, I did find a PAL NBA Hoopz scene release by PULSAR that did work. The only downside is that it had many sound glitches throughout game play. Until we get a fix, I guess this is it for now, or if another NEW group release (aka NO-BS, ReviveDC. etc.) come out with one of their own rips which ends up booting on the GDEMU without any issues. Until then.

On a side note: If anyone else out there can confirm that this game is having issues (NTSC & PAL of GDI & CDI ) on their GDEMU, I would appreciate it. I need more confirmation so I know for sure it's not only me.

    Peace!

I tested NBA Hoopz PAL and USA and both not working for me (GDI).

I tested NBA Hoopz CDI and working with random sound glitches in glameplay (i found it at th*isoz*ne).

The funny thing is if I leave the CDI game selected in GDMenu for a second a black screen appears and GDMenu is blocked. I got to select and push "A" very quick.

Another game I have problems is SuperRunabout PAL GDI. I think is caused because my console is PAL with forced 60Hz output and maybe this game doesn't like. The USA version works just fine.

Can somebody test Crazy Taxi and leave it on the demo loop for 2 hours with top case of the console closed. I have been reading reports of heat issues with the PSU of the console whether your using a Usb-GDrom or the SD version, so I removed the 12V from it, as the GDEMU does not use the 12V (only the original drive does) and when left, it causes spikes up to 14V, which increases the temps of the console.

When I leave the title running on the demo loop, at random times within the 2 hour time frame (estimated) it hangs on the SEGA logo screen requiring a hard reset.

At the moment, I'm leaving it without the top case on, as I don't know whether it could be the image or it's still causing extra heat in the console. I'm using the following:-

Japanese Console with a multi region bios through a 240V Stepdown in the UK
    Fw 5.10.0
    GDmenu 0.51

Trurip (DumpCast) - Sega Dreamcast GD-ROM - Games (US) [v2013-11-12]

EDIT: Incompatible SD card. Komputer Bay 128Gb SD

Error free using a Kingston Technology SDX10V/128GB
