USB GDrom Thread

I have never played the Bleemcast versions available. I love MGS on PS1 and the Bleem! Version looked to be an improvement. I was excited. I know it has it's critics, but I enjoyed the GC twin snakes version. That's for another thread, but damn I feel like it should be entirely possible to run Bleemcast. I just get a Bleem startup screen that loops! Krikzz really spoiled us with the Everdrives.......

 

The dreamcast renders all 3 games better than the psx. But the skybox looks funky

But imagine bleemed psx. Games with vga!!! Vga to hdmi!!!

 

Bleemcast issues are probably due to the data between sessions that gdemu assumes to be blank. If so, it'd be possible for deunan to add support for it.

 

Paid for mine just today (just in time, as I got my quote and reservation before the price bump) and can hardly wait.
I assume 1/2 TB WD My Passports will work without problems... Still gotta look out for a temp DC console though.
Some questions:
Does anyone know if homebrew works (or still not yet)?
And is there any news on a nice GUI?

 

I use a 2TB WD My Passport with no issues, and most home-brew works, providing its in the self booting cdi format

 

Can anyone ask the dev about supporting CCD files

Could bleem work as ccd?

 

It won't as far as i know.
But yes, we need support for ccd files
I hope he will do a firmware upgrade for this.

 

I think all usb_gdrom is missing is ccd support and bleem... it supports disc swap and cdi now....

 

D2 still doesn't work on Disc swap

 

Anyone tried to contact Mnemo as of late? There are 404 page errors on the site and no response from emails, yet I know he is busy, yet there has been silence for some time now. I wanted to know if there any fw updates planned soon, since GDEMU is the front runner at the moment since support for CCD/IMG/SUB files have been added and additional fixes for NBA Hoopz (still broken on UGC)

 

What issue does it have, as it works for me. That last firmware fixed the audio issues.

 

Black screen on boot after the Sega Logo (same as gdemu before the update) The firmware i'm using was newer than the 15/06/18 that is linked on the site apparently,as the date on mine is July on the main screen when I got the ODE in September this year.

 

Ah I'm using the firmware from the site, & the game works perfectly fine for me.

I'm using the NTSC version on a Pal system converted to NTSC.
(12v region change mod)

 

I tried to downgrade to the one on the site, yet every time I hit A on the firmware file, it reboots to the Audio screen. Is it not possible to downgrade? or is there a specific way to update because there is no information that I can find on this. Tried my USB 2.0 HDD and a separate 16GB pen drive to test with, plus my ODE is a V5 Internal model.

Mine also work (NBA Hoopz - NTSC version).
UGC v4 - Firmware 15/07/28 (used on a pal console converted to ntsc/u, without touching the original psu).

 

I played NBA Hoopz on the dreamcast because I had never played it before. I liked nba show time better, but that's besides the point. Not sure what firmware I am running on though.

 

That is so weird, as I know the image is fine. GDI from Trurip collection, as It works on NullDC and GDemu, yet not UGC (always a black screen) for me. Every other DC title from the Trurip works that I have tested on my Pen drives and HDD.

 

The game may have a region check & because it's NTSC/J it crashes?

Vanishing Point is another one that the NTSC version won't work on Pal systems.
(Pal version works on all regions)

 

A european version of NBA Hoopz exist, you can try if you have it.
