GTA IV receives perfect 10 from IGN, Masterful

i have mine but havent had the chance to open it or play it. I'm trying to beat super smash brothers and mario kart with the little time i have heh. How long is GTA4 anyways?

 

90 missions long. Took me a little over 22 hours to complete to story with about 1/4 of the side missions, a few activites etc. Although the main story is shorter than previous GTA games don't let it put you off, there is a TON of content there just waiting for you to uncover.

 

My roommate got the game, and I've been watching him play it. I've messed around in the game for probably about an hour.

From my experience with the game, it is really fucking cool, and I'd probably buy a copy if I owned a 360.

Best game ever? No. Game of the year? Quite possibly.

 

Who's the genius that decided to make the same button do 2 different things, like Y for carjack and enter taxi as passenger or X for headlight adjustment and to change weapons while on a motorcycle?

 

just played the chopper bit. WOW watching the city from the air is pure class.

 

I finished it some days ago and I must say: Apart from the missions being quite a bit boring and monotone, its one damn good game! The technical aspect is fantastic, especially physics and weather effects.

But as I mentioned before, I think the mission design is maybe the only thing one could improve about this game. Almost every mission was like "get to A, shoot B, then shoot actual target C and finally get rid off the cops - accomplished". Rockstar did way better with GTA San Andreas, but still there were some astonishing moments in this game (SPOILER i.e. the bank robbery w/street fight or the final mission[/SPOILER]).

And then I got a question to all those who finished the game (SPOILER):




Will Kate stay alive if I had decided to work with Dimitri again? I shot him and as a result, Pelegrino went mad so he killed her. Something tells me that he would have shot her anyway, but I'm still interested to know it for sure.

Only up to the bank job - its fecking hard! the mission is pure classmind just not sure how to attack it.

 

Shoot the cops and get teh money.
This mission was one of the harder parts of the game I think. It was perfectly designed though, including some allusions to Killing Zoe and Heat.

 

This game is teh pwnage. much better than teh past

How did you get 1,2m$? I have got 600k and only spend 200k on clothes/weapons refering to the stats.

BTW: Are those "Assassin"-missions endless? They seem pretty generated to me somehow, but on the other hand each of them has a unique name... mmh.

PS: My longest non-stop game was 10:54:00h! At least one thing I can beat you with

 

The money just seems to add up lol. The 30 car thefts for Stevie add quite a lot. The assassin missions arn't endless btw lol, I think there's about 10 in total.

And wow on 10 (near 11!) hours straight lol.

 

Mine is like 7 hours straight. I cant belive you only failed 6 missions?! Did you just reset the game when you failed a mission? lol And not died once or busted once? Did you have any fun playing the game? lol

i had a blast with multiplayer the other night. me and a buddy were up all night. i was actually crying the whole time i was laughing so hard. it was pure bliss.

 

Think I died about twice during missions and just reloaded the save. I also died a few times afterwards when killing all the flying rats and doing the stunts.

I didn't set out to have a perfect score or anything (which it isn't), I'm just strange about dying in games...feels wrong to keep progressing after your car explodes into a million flying bits with you inside lol.

 

i just watched a Katt Williams stand up routine at one of the comedy clubs in the game. HILARIOUS. this game owns.

 

Is it only me that is a bit disappointed by the game? It's great, but 10/10? Nah.. more like 8 or perhaps 9.

 

Oh dont worry, I am too. Id say 7 or 8 max for me. Missions just aren't very great, and the city is far from feeling alive. This coming from someone who only saw the trailers, and didnt read the hype.
