Looks like it could be mounted underneath. Fish the IDE cable out and add a GDROM/HDD toggle switch - would be awesome!

The idea was to have it mounted underneath the motherboard and have a ribbon like the one in the other picture go to another board be it an IDE connector or what I had in mind an IDE to Sata board, but didn't have too much luck finding a schematic I could use to have such a board. I wanted it to be smaller than the commercially available ones and not have the 40pin IDE connector.

I would buy one of these if you ever decide to produce them. Looks cool.

It looks awesome! I would love to get one from you if you ever produce it! :) It would be even great if you could built in a sata controller and a port! I think combo with this and gdemu would be awesome!

I see a person is selling the USB GD-ROM on the Facebook page. Is the SAG deal no longer happening?

USB GD-ROM is pre order on Facebook. Boards aren't available still for a couple weeks. What do you mean by "SAG"?

Someone posted that he cut a deal with Stone Age Gamer and they would be for sale on their site in the new year (that's this year, 2015) (I'm also waiting for them to appear there)

this looks awesome dude. I was doing the same thing but always got problems with the size of the pcb and messed up the gap between the solder pads, well i'm just a rookie in pcb designing:)
do you have an eagle file for it or what you have used to draw it. Would you release it to us?
i also tryed the g1-ata pcb from ozone but never got to know how to get some of these gd connectors.;-( so i stopped working on it because i also don't understand russian that much.

I hope not. I mean $200 is bad enough. I'd hate to see how much Stone Age Gamer charges! I just realized what SAG means lol

It's a little confusing, maybe the deal fell through. Stone Age Gamer stated that they had a deal in the works on their FB page, but now the FB page for this thread has a person saying he is selling them. Just not sure if it's real, and if these are the SAG boards many of us were waiting for.

The guy selling them buys them in bulk & then sells them on for a profit, I seen his Facebook page & thought the same.

He doing what people were wanting me to do, I said no as it would cost a pretty penny.

I talked to MNEMO about buying bulk too. I couldn't get a good enough price.

I am a gamer, I have been in the scene for a long time. But you cannot blame or speak ill of people trying to be an entrepreneur. (Like the facebook guy or Stoneagegamer)

Personally I had about $3K to invest and get as many boards as I could - my idea behind it - besides just a profit was that many people don't like dealing with someone foreign (language barrier).
Second they ship from a more reasonable place. I am US based but I can ship these to Many EURO countries for as little as $12 insured. Also US buyers would get free shipping and expedited service.
I just couldn't come to a fair price. My goal was to get them low enough to where I could sell them for $20 or $30 more than Mneno sells them for to most US buyers and make 50% profit.

IF I am going to drop $3K I want to walk away with almost $4.5-5K after my sell through.

There are also other good things about dealing with resellers.
    1. they have to deal with defects. Ebay, Paypal, Creditcard, Amazon, where ever one would resell this - those companies do protect the buyer. SHould there be a board issue that person needs to deal with it.
If you got a bad board from MNEMO would you really want to deal with his language barrier, no chance of money recovery and having to ship it back to Kazakhstan to get a replacement?
    2. Acceptance of more than just WESTERN UNION - A Huge barrier was he only took WU as payment as he killer paypal very quickly and very few people got to buy via paypal.
    3. Quicker Shipping - Shipping from the states (where most buyers seems to be) would be 2-4 days tops but even UK and other Euro Countries that seem to be buying these up too (I see man UK friends here) - I can get
a first class parcel to the UK for $11.50 shipped in 7 days.
    4. Feedback and Trust. While many of you probably don't know me. The places I would sell them show how long I have been a salesman and internet retailer for the products I carry.
I have over 5000+ ebay feedbacks with a 99.7% positive feedback profile. Been a 2 year amazon seller with close to 30 sales a week and a weekly 97% feedback rating (There are people who get upsset when
things get delayed by weather - I get the bad feedback)
5.Support. Anyone looking to resell should be prepared to offer support and know how the product works, and that person will and most like does speak better english than MNEMO does. Sure the reseller (if it was me)
WOuld be in contact with MNEMO all the time to get updates on firmware, pass on bugs and get bug reports and solutions to their customers issues. But Still dealing with a reseller for this device
might be easier on the eyes and ears than dealing with MNEMO himself (who can go dark for weeks at a time).
    6. and lastly - additional reach to gamers, there are many people who have no clue about these projects and threads. A reseller is going to do his best to get his product to the masses so it will get casual and or
gamers who don't go deep into forums and such the ability to get a hold of these cool devices.

SO please don't harp on any reseller.

Sure the product is expensive to begin with and I am sure - people like you and me who read all 100+ pages of this thread and been following this project for a long time don't even like MNEMO's price
and I am sure there will be a lot of belly aching about SAG pricing or any other resellers pricing. But Keep in mind most of you will if you haven't already will go to MNEMO to get one or Grab a DCEMU SD device.
So really none of us should really be WORRYING about resellers or complaining. There is a huge difference between a "Scalper" or "opportunistic people" Like those that snatch up one or Two of a really limited item
like say the new gold Nintendo 3ds to sell and someone who sees opportunity in working a deal out with a developer to resell their warez.

I did the conversion... he is charging $200.... MNEMO new store prices if converted to USD comes up to about $195 i think.... so he makes $5 and shipping? also he is offering to mod the USB port to be internal for people who dont want to mode their case and even offering to install a 1-2TB hard drive in the bay... he has been doing a great job at getting the word out about USB-GDrom and even allowed me to post MNEMOs Sales page link... if people wanted to deal with the man himself... better than i can say about most resellers... To me he is a all around decent guy and is just doing what all of us wish we could do... make it easier to get this hardware and inform people about it.

It's true, the guy on Facebook is making nothing on these when you figure in shipping fees. He also spends a lot of time answering everyone's questions. I still don't like the price, but at least it's not marked up by the reseller. Stone Age Gamer would probably charge $299 for them. Not trying to pick on SAG, others do it too. SAG has some cool stuff, I just always think of those terribly overpriced Krikzz boards.

    Greetings everyone.

I'm the guy from Facebook. SAG will be having stock and will be taking the role of NorthAmerican distribution. I believe there batch is next in que for production, Exact date of production and shipping idk but I'll have stock prior.

Logistics is nothing new for me and organizing this and the amount of questions is more a labor of love for the gaming community then a cash cow.

Should there be spare units or dropouts from the pre sale I'm doing will post on assembler BST.

You still have to follow standard Marketplace rules if you want to sell here. That includes validation photos. No pre-sales without.

Mine arrived in 1 week total. Other items shipped from Poland 2 weeks prior did not show up till 1 week after so 2-3 weeks would be a safe guess.
